The Bureau of Reclamation has announced that they will be closing State Highway 112 across El Vado Dam as part of the ongoing Dam Renovation Project. The closure will be in effect from May 27 through September 4, 2026. Visitors to the park should first travel to Tierra Amarilla, NM, then take Hwy 112 to the park.
