Day Use Pass Entrance Permits should be printed and placed on your dashboard so that it is visible to Park Rangers at all times. Failure to display the permit could result in a citation. If you are unable to print your permit, please proceed immediately to a self-pay station in the park and follow the instructions found there for filling out a Self Pay Permit.
The Lakeside Recreation area which includes comfort stations at Stallion Campground, Appaloosa Campground and Paloma Campground is set to undergo renovations, upgrades, and repairs to the water system the project will begin on May 13th with an anticipated completion date of June 26, 2024. Throughout the project, there will be no water supply available. We strongly strongly recommend utilizing the Riverside campground situated below Caballo Dam to fill your holding tanks before arriving to the Lakeside Recreation area. The riverside campground features two sets of comfort stations equipped with showers and washrooms. Alternatively, Percha Dam State Park is available to fill your holding tanks or utilize the comfort stations.

On Google Maps, use "EV Charging Station" as your destination address for the Visitor Center. The iPhone maps app will use "Caballo Lake State Park". If you end up at Smith Ranch, turnaround, head south and make a left onto HWY 187 for six miles. Caballo Lake’s main entrance will be on the left.
