ATTENTION!: Water Alert for Caballo Lake State Park!
The Lakeside Recreation Area, which includes Comfort Stations at Stallion Campground, Appaloosa Campground, and Palomino Campground, is set to undergo renovations, upgrades, and repairs to its water supply system. The project is tentatively scheduled to start on May 6, with an expected completion by the end of June. Throughout the project, there will be NO water supply available. We strongly recommend utilizing the Riverside Campground, situated below Caballo Dam, to fill your holding tanks before arriving at the Lakeside Recreation Area. The Riverside Campground features two sets of Comfort Stations equipped with showers and washrooms. Alternatively, Percha Dam State Park is available for filling your holding tanks or utilizing the Comfort Stations. For questions, cancellations or concerns, please feel free to contact the Park Office at (575) 743-3942, or reach out to Park Superintendent Abdon Aguirre at Send mail.
